How technology changed the NFL for the better

Image
The game of football has dramatically increased over time. The technology built around the game helps pretty much everyone of the field. Players, Coaches, referees, fans, reporters and even trainers. Just to think that the game itself just started with a bunch of x and o’s on a chalkboard to black and white TVs with no replay system available is crazy to me. In my opinion technology and the background of the game of football is one of the most important aspects of the game. One of the newest additions to the game was when Microsoft paired with the NFL and gave the players the ability to use their technology of the surface pro’s. Players and coaches use this technology to their advantages. NFL Operations says that, “The Sideline Viewing System app lets coaches zoom in, make annotations, review plays and tag 'favorites' for later review. As with the old system — but in a more immediate, flexible and efficient way — teams use the information to adjust play-calling and instruct...

Is it time to fully switch to solar energy?

Image
A lot of people ask questions about the world and how we can fix it. The world is slowly crumbling right before our eyes do to pollution, exhaust and waste. Fossil fuels like coal and gas are burned relinquishing waste into our atmosphere. But now that technology has increased when need to lean away from fossil fuels and start new with the technology of solar energy. Humans now have the ability to create renewable energy through solar panels. New Hampshire agrees with my thesis, they recently realized this. “Members of the state’s Congressional delegation announced Monday (December 2) that $1.9 million in federal grant money is headed to New Hampshire to fund research projects aimed at advancing solar technology”(Feely). \With all this money coming in to the state, they have a great opportunity to lean more toward solar energy and be more confident in the reliance on solar. In recent years, all this talk about the environment is making humans scared and having them scramble for what ene...

Is Social Media Addictive?

Image
For most people, you wake up and get dressed and get maybe get breakfast and at the table most people have nothing better to do then to check their Twitter, Instagram and Snap-Chat. Social media is a huge part in people's lives on a daily basis and it leads to the questions. Is it addictive? Can people last without it? And who is most affected by social media? In a Ted talk I watched called “why you should quit social media” by Doctor Cal Newport he had some interesting statements. One of which really caught my eye. His concept with social media is “Like a slot machine on your phone.”(Newport). This example is very true in most cases. This is because designers and creators of social media purposely try to make you engaged and make social media as addictive as possible. They want to create that urge in your stimulus to make you want to keep using it or in his reference spin the slot machine. And it will happen over and over again. (Social media sources) Doctor Cal Newport al...

Is Technology Making Humans Lazier?

Image
Technology is constantly changing and evolving year by year. There are drones that deliver mail, robots who clean and vacuum on their own, and now Runaway automation popped into the mix recently. Every year, cars have slowly advanced and technology in cars are making it safer for people to cause less collisions that result in Injuries and death. But it's almost getting to that point where humans have to ask themselves if they are relying on too much technology. Relying on technology to be the main steerer when it comes to cars is a bad idea. The fear of a malfunction or a mistake in the technology can result in serious harm. In an article I read, (link) It had a survey ( Pew Research report ) That expressed the fear in automation. 72 percent US adults expressed their worries about self driving cars and the reliance of technology to be in the driver's seat. People aren't quite ready for the transition to the reliance of technology. Picture of what a self driving...
